MADE IN DAGENHAM

The year is 1968 when a group of women working at the Ford plant in Dagenham, UK walk out demanding equal pay.  A wonderful British screenplay, good acting with Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins, and Miranda Richardson as the powerful leader of Labor.  A warm, up-beat film about an issue that reverberated throughout the industrialized world and brought the Fair Labor Act to UK in 1970. We saw this on dvd.

The day was spent at The Old Pecan Street Festival on 6th St.  Art, crafts, music, jewely, dresses, t-shirts, food and drinks.  As Abe said "just like 7th Heaven in Park Slope," a street fair every Father's Day.Then drinks at the beautiful  Driskill with terrific people watching.  A good day!
