E PROIBIDO FUMAR/SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES

Tonight we saw this Brazilian film made by Anna Mylaert and it was wonderful.  We saw it at the Ritz, part of the Cine Las Americas series.  The film is about loneliness, love, jealousy and is filled with enormous comic relief.  The characters are real, the story is beautifully detailed by the cinematography (OK Abe pointed that out).  We both liked this film a great deal.

This morning I heard a poem by Jane Kenyon on NPR that really stopped me in my tracks.  I share it now.

At the IGA: Franklin, New Hampshire by Jane Kenyon | The Writer's Almanac with Garrison Keillor
