Tonight we had a flash back to a gritty place and time in NYC with this beautifully made documentary. The filmmaker, Lionel Rogosin born into a privileged life as a garment district heir abandons this life to make a film . He acknowledges he knows nothing about film making so he spends 6 months "on the bowery" getting to know the souls who live, drink, sleep, argue, and crumble there. A compassionate film made more powerful by being black and white. A good choice, Chale.
President Obama was in town yesterday. Boy he knows how to talk "Texan." He promised to return. We can't wait.
